Contract Type: 1-year Term, Full time (37.5 hours per week) with the possibility to fill an indeterminate position over the course of this employment based on the organizational needs and financial resources.

Context:
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) program aims to build a stronger Canada through immigration programs, citizenship services, refugee protection, and issuing Canadian travel documents. Immigration has been crucial in shaping Canada into the diverse and prosperous nation it is today and, looking forward, stands to be equally fundamental to Canada’s future social cohesion and economic prosperity.
Summary of Duties:
We are looking for team players with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage a variety of tasks in a timely manner to support IRCC program objectives. Responsibilities for each level of position include:
1. LE-A1 Program Support
Salary: MXN 288,707 per year before taxes
Under general supervision of the Migration Program Manager or an Officer, the incumbent of this position:
- Provides clerical support related to the processing of immigration applications for the delivery of Canada’s immigration programs in the Embassy’s area of responsibility;
- Follows procedures and guidelines for entering, validating and updating data;
- Assists in electronic file management for the Latin America and Caribbean region;
- Exercises initiative in organizing work, managing resources, and resolving problems; and
- Supports the overall work of the section and performs other program related duties, as required.
2. LE-A2 Program Assistant
Salary: MXN 333,409 per year before taxes
Under general supervision of the Migration Program Manager or an Officer, the incumbent of this position:
- Provides administrative support related to the processing of immigration applications for the delivery of Canada’s immigration programs in the Embassy’s area of responsibility;
- Assists in the monitoring of Visa Application Centre services;
- Participates in promotion and outreach activities or other supports to clients relevant to the immigration program;
- Develops procedural expertise to properly apply established guidelines and procedures;
- Researches and compiles information to support reporting and liaison;
- Exercises initiative in organizing work, managing resources, and resolving complex problems; and
- Supports the overall work of the section and performs other program related duties, as required.
Any essential or asset qualification (or combination of both), operational requirement may be used for screening purposes. Eligible candidates will be informed if they qualify for one or both positions
Area of selection/Eligibility:
This position is open to any person currently residing and legally able to work in Mexico (or who can get a work permit by their own means before an appointment).

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language and experience
Candidates must clearly demonstrate when applying to the position how they meet each of the essential qualifications.
Education:
- Completion of university studies at a legally registered institution
Candidates must provide proof of the completion of their education. Valid documents include: “titulo”, “cedula”, or an academic record/official letter confirming that 100% of university courses have been completed.
Language:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English and Spanish at an intermediate level (similar to B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference - CEFR).
Experience:
A minimum of 12 months of cumulative and recent* experience** in one of the following areas:
- conducting research, analysis and reporting in a professional capacity
- providing client service and engaging with the public in person, by telephone, and/or electronic messaging
- provision of administrative support, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing work within an office environment
*Recent is defined from September 2021 onwards
**Experience must be within a professional office environment (cumulative part-time assignments, including “Prácticas Profesionales” or “Servicio Social”, also count as experience)
The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and relate to knowledge, abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online, pre-recorded or in-person), and reference checking. Preference may be given to candidates who meet one or more of the Asset Qualifications. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their application and, as required, during the selection process, how they meet any of the following asset qualifications:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in French at an intermediate level (similar to B2 in the CEFR).
- Ability to interpret and/or translate Haitian Creole into English and/or French.
- Ability to create visual products for external audiences (e.g. infographics, social media images or data visualization).
- Experience in data analysis including writing queries and basic macros to extract data.
- Experience working with IRCC’s Global Case Management System.
- Experience in migration-related matters, including but not limited to irregular and regular migration, fraud, visa, consular work, or similar.
Operational Requirements
- Willing and able to work overtime, as required.
- Willing and able to work on certain Mexican holidays.
- Willing and able to work physically in an open office environment.
Conditions of Employment
Conditions of employment must be met or complied with before being appointed to a particular position, and are to be maintained throughout the employment while being the incumbent of this position.
- Hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period; and
- Obtain and maintain a valid security clearance from the Government of Canada (reliability level), which includes a criminal and credit background check.
