Summary of Duties:
Under the direction of the Deputy Management and Consular Officer (DMCO), the Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing all client transport services. This includes scheduling and dispatching vehicles, ensuring timely and efficient transport operations, and maintaining communication with drivers and clients.
The Dispatcher will:
- Monitor and track vehicle locations and statuses.
- Help coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring all vehicles are in optimal condition.
- Maintain an up-to-date transport schedule and ensure timely dispatch of vehicles.
- Liaise with specialty shops for major repairs and maintenance.
- Manage inventory and order necessary parts and supplies.
- Provide recommendations to local management regarding vehicle conditions and transport operations.
- Manage the driver teamwork schedule.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and embassy policies.
Area of Selection:
This position is open to employees currently holding an indeterminate or term position at the Embassy of Canada, as well as temporary employees, who meet all essential qualifications and whose applications are received by the closing date.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language* and experience.

Education:

- Post-secondary diploma from a recognized institution in a discipline related to the job requirements (e.g., Business Administration, Management, Transport and Logistics, Human Resources, or a related discipline), or a combination of education and experience.

- Fluency in French (read, spoken and written).
- Fluency in Créole (read, spoken and written).

Experience:

- Recent experience* of at least one year in logistics, fleet management, employee supervision, preferably within an international or governmental organization.
- Recent experience* working as a driver.
- Experience in supervising a team of at least 5 employees.

*Recent is defined as within the last five (5) years.

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.

- Relevant experience in a similar role in a diplomatic mission or in an international organization.
- Knowledge of English (spoken and written).

Operational Requirements:

- Normal working hours: 37.5 hours/week (Monday to Friday).
- Ability to work occasional overtime outside normal working hours (e.g. early mornings, evenings and weekends) and potentially on short notice.
- A combination of Haitian and Canadian statutory holidays, which means you will be required to work on certain Haitian holidays.
- Must be physically able to do manual work.

- Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period.
- Security screening: Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada covering the entire employment period.
- Other conditions of employment: Valid driving licence.
