Summary of Duties:
This is a network-wide generic position reporting to the Program Manager, Mission Common Services or other Senior Officer. This position is the mission’s primary point of contact for all common services provided either directly at the mission or through a Common Service Delivery Point (CSDP). Supervises one or more Common Service Assistant(s) (CSA).
Accountable for the provision of mission specific common services to mission clientele in addition to the coordination of regionalized common services requests from the mission to the CSDP. Responsible for delivery of more than one of the following common services: finance, human resources, management of information and documentation of the services(s) in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Area of Selection:
This position is open to external candidates who have the right to reside and work in Ghana and to all employees of the mission occupying an indeterminate or determined position and to employees hired with a temporary contract, who have all the essential qualifications and whose applications are received before the closing date.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language* and experience.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate when applying to the position how they meet each of these essential qualifications.
*Language will be assessed further during the process.
Education:
Candidates will be required to provide proof of the completion of their education.
Degree, diploma or certificate in the field of administration sciences (finance, accounting, administration, human resources or similar field) from an accredited university, college or technical school.
Language:
- Advanced level* in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of recent experience working in an office environment for an international organization, diplomatic mission or private corporate company.
- At least three (3) years of recent experience in financial reporting, forecasting and analysis, budget planning and management
- At least three (3) years of recent experience in human resources and/or compensation and benefits administration.
RATED REQUIREMENTS
The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and are relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online pre-recorded/live or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial control principles
- Knowledge of general human resources principles and procedures
- Knowledge of advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Suite
Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills, including financial analysis and attention to detail.
- Effective interactive communication – Oral and written (with internal/external stakeholders)
- Judgement and discretion
Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and work under pressure to meet deadline
Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.
- Experience in supervision of staff.
- Ability to communicate in French (reading, writing and oral).
Operational Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime on occasion when operationally necessary
- Ability to travel
Conditions of Employment:
Conditions of employment must be met or complied with before being appointed to a particular position, and are to be maintained throughout the employment while being the incumbent of this position.
- Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period.
- Security screening: Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada covering the entire employment period.
- Other conditions of employment:
- Successful completion of a medical check-up by a mission-approved physician.
