Summary of Duties:

Join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting Canada’s global mission network by ensuring fair, effective, and compliant benefits for locally engaged staff in approximately 30 international missions.

As a Regional Benefits Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of our international HR operations, working closely with the Regional Specialist and Senior Officer to deliver expert guidance on social security, pensions, and employee benefits. Your work will directly impact the well-being of our global workforce.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and data analysis to support Canada’s fiduciary responsibilities and ensure accurate, equitable benefit delivery.
  • Policy & Compliance: Ensure alignment with Canadian policies, local labor laws, and contractual obligations governing locally engaged staff.
  • Expert Guidance: Provide technical advice and actionable recommendations to internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and cost-efficiency of our benefits programs.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the broader team with program-related duties and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven work environment.

 

Area of Selection:

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language* and experience.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate when applying to the position how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

*Language will be assessed further during the process.

Education:

Candidates will be required to provide proof of the completion of their education.

      • A university degree from a legally registered institution in finance, administration, actuarial science, economics, psychology or international affairs.

*Candidates must meet the education requirement when applying for the position (i.e. before the closing date).

Language:

      • Advanced written and spoken proficiency in French.
      • Advanced written and spoken proficiency in English (similar to B2 or higher in the Common European Framework of Reference - CEFR).

Experience:

      • A minimum of three years’ experience working for a private or public organization in compensation, pension, insurance, and/or benefits.
      • Experience conducting research and analysis.
      • Experience gathering, compiling and analyzing data and information.
      • Experience preparing and presenting reports to management and/or clients on pension and/or benefits. 

 

RATED REQUIREMENTS

The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and are relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online pre-recorded/live or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:

      • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and online collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, or similar).
      • Knowledge of pensions and/or group insurance.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.

      • Postgraduate certificate in a field related to social security, pensions, and benefits.
      • Experience providing services in human resources or employee benefits.
      • Experience providing services to multiple clients in different locations within and/or outside Morocco.
      • Previous experience working in a diplomatic mission, international organization, foreign private company, or similar.
      • Intermediate written and spoken proficiency in Arabic level.
      • Proficiency in one or more local languages of the countries in the portfolio (e.g. Swahili, Amharic, Hausa,...).

Operational Requirements:

      • Full-time position: 37,5 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.
      • Willingness to work shift work and overtime, often on short notice (including evenings and weekends).
      • Availability to travel occasionally (national and international).
      • Willingness and ability to work in a combination of Moroccan and Canadian statutory holidays, which means you will be required to work on certain Moroccan holidays.  
      • Able to work with and within virtual teams.
      • Work in an open space.
      • Able to work on location at the Embassy of Canada (no telework).

Conditions of Employment:

Conditions of employment must be met or complied with before being appointed to a particular position, and are to be maintained throughout the employment while being the incumbent of this position.

      • Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period.
      • Security screening: Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada covering the entire employment period. (Will be started once the staffing process is completed and may take ~4 weeks).
